The project has not completed the manual assistive-technology, browser/device and third-party-flow testing required to claim WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance.
1. Commitment and target
Our design and development target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing product and operations responsibility rather than a one-time statement.
We aim to make the public information, policy pages, future checkout, secure intake and purchaser delivery usable with keyboard navigation, zoom, text resizing, screen readers, reduced-motion settings and common mobile devices.
2. Measures already present in the local prototype
- semantic headings, landmarks, labels, lists and buttons;
- a keyboard-accessible skip link and visible focus indicators;
- form instructions, inline errors and an error summary;
- text alternatives for meaningful concept images;
- responsive layouts and support for reduced-motion preferences;
- no autoplaying audio or video; and
- plain-language explanations that distinguish artwork from health or spiritual services.
3. Known limitations and unresolved areas
The planned products are the Personalized Pet Sympathy Card and the Personalized Pet Sympathy Card + 20-Second Farewell Video. The video product includes both the card and the 20-second video. The provisional media recommendation requires the core meaning to remain understandable without audio through on-screen text, with a planned plain-text version delivered as an accessibility alternative.
- The checkout, private intake, email delivery and private sharing experience are not connected and therefore have not been tested end to end.
- The provisional video baseline is 20 seconds, 9:16, 1080 × 1920 px, 30 fps, MP4/H.264 and up to 25 MiB; Owner approval, production enforcement, captions/transcript/audio-description review and music policy remain pending.
- The planned delivery has no autoplay. The launch recommendation does not provide voice cloning or simulated pet speech.
- If commercial music authorization is not documented, the planned delivery is music-free.
- Third-party payment and support interfaces may have accessibility behavior outside our direct control.
- Automated checks do not replace keyboard, screen-reader, zoom, reflow, contrast and mobile testing.
- The exact accessibility contact and alternative-order route are pending.
4. Testing required before launch
Before making a conformance statement, test the complete production flow at 200% and 400% zoom, at narrow viewport widths, by keyboard only, with reduced motion, and with at least one current screen reader/browser combination on desktop and mobile.
The test must cover focus order, status messages, errors, upload controls, consent checkboxes, checkout return states, email links, link expiry, video alternatives and every third-party page necessary to complete a purchase.
5. Accessibility feedback and alternatives
If a visitor cannot access information or complete a step, the effective statement will provide a dedicated route to request the same information or a reasonable alternative without an added fee.
Accessibility contact: [ACCESSIBILITY/SUPPORT EMAIL]
Response target: one business day in [TIMEZONE/HOURS PENDING].
When reporting a barrier, include the page, the task attempted and the browser or assistive technology if comfortable doing so. Do not include payment-card details or private pet photos in an ordinary support email.
